How does the Boggess PTA benefit the students and families of Boggess?

A quick read through the PTA budget line items would get you the same information, but here’s a condensed list of what the PTA does for the students and families of Boggess with the funds we raise:

  • Purchase Student Planners
  • Purchase Grade Level Spirit Shirts*
  • Purchase Science Fair/History Fair Awards*
  • Pay for Speaker/Demonstration at Fall and Spring Assembly
  • Purchase new recess equipment for all grade levels annually
  • Set aside funds for Grade Level Class Parties (including 5th Grade Celebration)
  • Set aside funds for Field Trips
  • Set aside funds for Campus Improvements
  • Scholarships

Organize/Coordinate:

  • After School Programs (Chess Class, Sculpting, Art, STEM, etc.)
  • Family Fine Arts Night/Family Science (STEM) Night
  • Parent Programs
  • Fall Carnival
  • Yearbooks**
  • Book Fair
  • School Supplies**
  • Hospitality: At many events (Parent Programs, Grandparents Day, Veteran’s Day, History/Science Fair) and at different times throughout the year (Teacher Appreciation Week, Fall/Spring Teacher Luncheon, STAAR testing) the Boggess PTA provides drinks/snacks/food to Visitors, Volunteers and Teachers/Administrators of Boggess.

I have a Membership Toolkit account. Isn't that the same as joining the PTA?

It is not the same. Membership Toolkit is the service that empowers us to make purchases, complete paperwork, and coordinate our volunteer efforts —all online. The goal is to save time, and work together more smoothly! Once registered, you can:
  • Join our PTA (and pay dues) online
  • Sign-up to receive important communications
  • Complete your directory information
  • Donate
  • Purchase spirit wear
  • Access the online directory and app (for PTA members only)

IF I JOIN, DO I HAVE TO...

  • Go to meetings?
No. You are welcome to attend our general meetings though.
  • Volunteer or spend a lot of time at school?
Nope! Joining the PTA is not the same as volunteering. If you choose to volunteer we would LOVE the help—but volunteering is not required.

PLANO ISD COUNCIL OF PTAs

The Plano ISD Council of PTAs, with 70 local-unit PTAs and more than 22,000 members, is the key link in the line of communication between the local, area, State, and National PTAs, as well as with the school administration and the general public. Councils provide opportunities for conferences, leadership training, and coordination of efforts, plus information, support, inspiration, and instruction for Council members.

The Council serves to strengthen local PTAs, support new PTAs, develop leadership potential, promote PTA membership and serve the community and its children.

Plano ISD Council of PTAs is involved in many programs and projects, including leadership training, Officer and Chairman Training, Outstanding PTA Award, Life Membership Banquet, Reflections and Texas PTA Environmental Programs, Vendor Fair, Plano ISD administration holiday luncheon, local PTA program recognition, legislative action and community issues and more.

Texas PTA

Texas Parent Teacher Association (PTA) assists PTAs in building their CommYOUnity through programs that promote student achievement, creativity and inclusiveness.

Our society's future leaders, innovators, citizens and protectors are our children, and they are given their best chance to succeed when their community unites as a powerful and effective voice for all children. Whether you’re helping a student improve their reading, working the drop-off line at the school, or just taking the simple step to join a PTA - you are making the difference in the lives of our kids!

PTA is focused on making every child's potential a reality by strengthening education and taking a comprehensive approach to community success. And we know there is no commYOUnity without YOU, our members, our business leaders, our decision-makers. Join us to ensure that supporting our schools is about more than fundraisers, rather the work of parents, educators and community members coming together to back the future of every child!

National PTA

Parent Teacher Association (PTA) is the largest volunteer child advocacy association in the nation. Its mission reminds our country of its obligations to children and provides parents and families with a powerful voice to speak on behalf of every child while providing the best tools for parents to help their children be successful students.
