World Wear Project Recycling Bin
Thanks to the efforts of several volunteers at the local Murphy PISD schools, as well as the Murphy City Council (special shout-out to Jennifer Berthiaume for her support!), the City of Murphy code of ordinances was adjusted to allow for the placement of the collection bins on our campuses.
The World Wear Project is a for-profit recycling program, and a portion of the proceeds they generate from recycled items are donated to the Boggess PTA. This directly benefits the students, parents and school by allowing the PTA to use these funds to continue planning programs and activities. Beyond the financial, this also keeps tons of these materials from winding up in the local landfills, where it could take decades (or longer) to decompose.
Items You May Put in the Bin:
Clothing, Shoes, Belts, Purses, Wallets, Hats, Caps, Backpacks, Hard Toys, Stuffed Animals, Pots and Pans
Items You MAY NOT Put in the Bin:
Furniture of any kind, Knives, Kitchen appliances, Appliances with cords, Items made of glass
You can learn more about the World Wear Recycling Program here: http://worldwearproject.com/
If you have questions or concerns about the bin, please contact a PTA Representative: http://www.boggesspta.org/PTA_Contacts
